Only a few hours ago, we broke the news of a massive Grand Theft Auto 6 leak from Rockstar. Teapotuberhacker uploaded up to 90 files in the GTA forums that purported to represent scenes and gameplay from GTA 6. The pictures and gameplay recordings were widely shared online, and one can see a three-minute gaming segment on YouTube, for instance.
GTA 6 Gameplay That Has Leaked Is Genuine
There were questions as to whether the Grand Theft Auto 6 early gameplay was actually in the files released, despite the fact that they all seemed to be pretty reliable. Jason Schreier, a well-known industry insider, responded to this query on Twitter. Sources at Rockstar Games have confirmed, as Schreier explains, that the leak was in fact GTA 6 footage. It’s interesting to note that the leaker claimed to be the same hacker responsible for an earlier cyberattack against Uber.
The user released numerous lines of code that allegedly belonged to GTA 6 along with pictures of the game. With Schreier’s affirmation, Teapotuberhacker’s deception is now much more likely. This situation is a true nightmare for Rockstar Games, as Schreier properly notes on Twitter. Given that some of the source code has been stolen, it is entirely feasible that the development of the game may be further delayed. Rockstar hasn’t yet addressed the leak directly.
